We are excited to be the first company to offer scheduled whale-watching tours leaving from the Lopez Islander Resort on Lopez Island. We head out from April to October in search of orca whales, gray whales, and humpback whales and spot them on over 90% of our trips. We also encounter sea lions, seals, porpoise, eagles, otters, and sea birds. Since our boats are some of the fastest around, we can get to wherever the whales are and spend more time with them - we can easily go 50 miles to find whales! You will get plenty of one-on-one attention from the captain and our trained naturalists because there are never more than 12 people aboard our boats. All our vessels are custom built for whale and wildlife viewing, and most have heated cabins and full restrooms. Our boats are also equipped with hydrophones so we can listen to the whales after we find them. Most tours last between 3 and 5 hours. Whale-watching trips leave most days and reservations are recommended. Combination Whale Watch and Fishing Trips are available for your group. Charter Fishing from the Lopez Islander Resort

We offer four, six and eight hour fishing trips from the Lopez Islander Resort. We fish for Ling Cod, Halibut, Cabezon, Greenling, Dungeness Crab, and Spot Shrimp. The season determines what we can keep and what we release. Call for more details on seasons and limits. We primarily take out the Blackfish - our 30 ft Catamaran - for departures from Lopez Islander Resort. We also offer trips on our 23 ft skiff - the Sun Runner. The Blackfish can take up to 11 people and can fish up to 8 at a time. The Sun Runner can take out 6 people and fishes up to 4. Remember, you can combine fishing with whale watching for the perfect day on the water. Six hours required for a combination whale watch and fishing trip.
