Come out and see Orca, Humpback, Grey, and Minke whales. Also sight seals, seal lions, porpoises, otters, eagles and numerous other marine animals.
Our whale watching trips are structured in two ways:
Cutom Charters • Seated Trips
Custom Charters
 The first option is the custom charter. With a custom charter your group can schedule our vessel at an hourly rate for a minimum of three hours. The custom charter ensures total privacy and complete control over you trip’s itinerary. The custom charter gives you an opportunity to get way out into the Straight of Juan de Fuca where other local whale boats rarely go. In this area we can go looking for Humpbacks and Grey whale in addition to the local Orca Pods. Other activities such as, fishing, kayaking, island stops, and gourmet meals can be combined with whale watch during a custom charter. Custom charters are available year round. Pick up by boat is available from any location including any of the San Juan Islands, Lummi Island, Bellingham, or Anacortes. Pick up by boat or van is available anywhere on Orcas Island. Charter’s can be scheduled as skippered with a six passenger maximum or as bareboat with a 12 passengers maximum.
Custom Charter Rates
- Winter Season: $500 for first three hours and $145 for each additional hour
- Low season is from October 14th to April 14th
- Shoulder Season: $550 for first three hours and $155 for each additional hour
- Shoulder season is from April 15th to May 20th and from Sept 15th to October 15th
- Summer Season: $600 for the first three hour and $165 for each additional hour
- High Season is from May 21st to October 14th

Seated Trips
The second option is the seated trip option. On these trips we sell tickets to individuals to create groups no larger than six for a day or evening on the water. On these trips our priority is usually orca whale sightings, though we always save time to visit an island state park for either picnic lunch or gourmet dinner. On the evening trips we set crab traps when the season permits and incorporate the fresh caught crab into our dinner menu. Seated trips depart June through early September. The distant traveled on a trip will depend on occupancy, but trips are never cancelled. These trips offer a wonderful day on the water, a chance to meet some new friends, and an opportunity to enjoy abundant wildlife, beautiful scenery and great food. - Whale watching, a Picnic lunch on Jones Island State Park, and a scenic cruise home.
- Rates: $99 per person
- $15 for lunch (optional)
Seated Evening Trip
Example Itinerary
Whale Watching, Pull up a crab pot and catch some Dungeness crab for dinner, then let our captain prepare a gourmet steak, salmon, and crab dinner, while you explore one of Sucia Island’s beautiful beaches.
