Fishing Charters

Bottom Fishing

One of our most popular family activities, bottom fishing trips are great for fishermen of any skill level. We frequently take out first time fishermen as young as 4 and 5 years old as well as skilled veterans. We highly recommend bottom fishing for a group considering their first fishing experience in the San Juans. Usually everyone catches fish and the techniques are easy to learn. We can also drop some pots and catch crabs or prawns!

Seasons: Bottom fishing is open year round

Shrimp and Halibut are open in May

Lingcod is open May 1st - June 15th

Crabbing is open July 15 - September 30th (except Tues & Wed)

Salmon Fishing

We offer Salmon charters from July to October as allowed by Washington State. During the summer we can get silver, king, and pink salmon. Salmon fishing is more hit and miss than bottom fishing. The pay off can be big but patience is necessary. For that reason it is not recommended for young children or for first time fishermen. Salmon charters are limited to a maximum of 6 per boat.

Seasons: Limited Summer Days

Dungeness Crabbing

Season:  July 15th to September 30th

(NO TUESDAYS OR WEDNESDAYS)

Dungeness Crab are one of the signature shellfish in the Pacific Northwest. A fresh Dungeness Crab, caught in the Salish Sea and cooked the same day, is a real highlight of the summer.  When in season, crabbing can be added to most recreational charters, just by adding another hour to your trip.

There is always the possibility that the seasons will change as we get deeper into summer, so please check with your charter coordinator to confirm availability.

Halibut Fishing

Season:  Various Dates April - June

Pacific Halibut bring a lot of excitement to our coastal ports, resorts and lodges. The calm seas of spring and summer let us explore the edges of the continental shelf, including the remote reefs and banks where Halibut live.

Large Pacific Halibut, also called Barndoor Halibut, can tip the scales at 200 to 400 pounds! There are also many small fish, or Chicken Halibut, at 15 to 25 pounds. Although the fishery here is not as abundant as in Alaska, the quest for Halibut is a great experience for novice to experienced fishermen of all ages.

Spot Shrimp thrive in deep water areas along the North Pacific Coast, and can add a delicious element to your summer meals. Prawning can be added to most recreational charters by adding another hour to your trip.
