We have a 25% non-refundable deposit / cancellation fee. Your trip is transferable until 48 hours before your departure. No-shows will not be refunded or rescheduled.

• Outer Island Excursions may cancel trips due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances. If this happens, you will be refunded in full.

• If you do have to cancel within 48 hours of departure, you cannot reschedule and will not be refunded, unless we are able to resell your tickets. If you want to pursue this option, call us as soon as possible so we can attempt to resell your tickets. If your tickets DO NOT resell, you will still be responsible for them in full.

• Private charters $2000 and over require a 25% non-refundable deposit at time of reservation. Charters $2000 and under must be paid in full at time of reservation.

For all private excursions over $2000, an automatic gratuity of 10% of your charter price will be added to your reservation, unless opted for a higher gratuity amount. 

On our classic Whale & Orca  Tour from Anacortes and Orcas Island, if you do not see a whale or an orca, you will be given a free ticket to come back. This voucher will never expire. Vouchers are non-transferable. Sightings are guaranteed from March 1, 2025 to November 16 for the 2025 season. Winter tours (from November 17, 2025 to February 27, 2026) do NOT have guaranteed sightings. This is because we have less visitors and therefore less boats searching to find them- but there are still plenty of whales out there! Sightings will be Guaranteed again from February 28, 2026 to November 15, 2026.

On our Orca Only Tour tour from Anacortes and Orcas Island, if you do not see an orca then you will receive a free voucher to come back. This voucher will never expire. Vouchers are non-transferable. Sightings are guaranteed from May 1 to September 30.

Private Charters do not guarantee whale sightings. The 3 hour duration private charter has about an 80% success rate of sightings, the 4 hour private charter success rate for sightings is 90%. If you want to see Orcas specifically, we recommend 5 hours for a 98% success rate.
