20 Orca Whales!

Today was an amazing day in the San Juan Islands with at least 6 different Matrilines of Bigg's Killer Whales traveling towards each other until they eventually met and formed one big social group!


Included in this group were the T123's, T02B, T060's, T06B's, T075B's and the T109C's!

A few photos from our day can be seen below. Enjoy!

Newborn orcas lack a layer of blubber that causes their blood vessels to be seen just under the surface of the skin. This gives them this orange or yellow coloring that will be visible until near the end of their first year of life.
